Institutional users and external users registered through another SBN-UBO library may borrow books. Users must first register at the Library Information Point presenting a valid ID document (see Info Point hours).
The loan period is 30 days; it may be renewed. Items borrowed personally using an ID document are the responsibility of that person. Items must be returned in good condition, without any signs of damage.
Please note that some material is not available for borrowing: including all periodicals as well as those books indicated in the catalog 'for internal consultation only'. In addition, books located in some Library branches may be borrowed only by institutional users. Details can be found here.
External users should contact Library staff in advance to reserve the material they require, as some books in the branch libraries may not be available.
Inter-Library Loan (ILL)
The Inter-Library Loan (ILL) service borrows books from, and lends books to, other libraries in Italy and abroad through reciprocal agreements.
Institutional users must first register with NILDE to access the service. Watch the video.
When requesting an ILL through NILDE, users must select 'part of a book' specifying in the 'user note' any interest in receiving the entire book. The loan period of 30 days may be renewed depending upon the policy of the library lending.
The user will be informed through NILDE when the item is available at the Library, to be picked up at the Information Point (see Info Point hours).
Libraries can request a book loan via:
