Document delivery provides users with materials which can not be directly accessed at the Library. This service, through collaboration with a wide network of Italian and foreign libraries, is available to institutional users, for study or research purposes. The Library, for its part in the collaboration, supplies other libraries with copies of material from its own collections.
The Library operates in compliance with applicable laws on copyright and conditions governing the use of electronic resources, according to user licenses.
A user can find the permitted format of the document requested and the permitted transmission method, by consulting ALPE (Electronic Periodicals Licenses Archive).
Users can then also send NILDE requests directly through the button, where it is present in bibliographic databases or publisher web sites. Watch the video.
External users who are not already registered with another library may request documents and receive them, in person, at the Library. This service is primarily offered to private citizens, scholars and experts on particular subjects but not, for instance, to university students who have access through their University departmental libraries.
Such external users must, in any case, register at the Library Information Point. The Library does not accept individual requests by email.
- Become a member of NILDE using the registration form for libraries. Registration is free of charge for the first year: see the conditions for membership and costs.
- Request copies of articles or book chapters by email. This service to non-NILDE libraries is provided for a fee (see costs).
To CNR libraries the Document Delivery service is free of charge.
